Key activities that have supported the development of the tree nursery environment have been the collection of seeds from the surviving forest, the discussion with community members about the value of these seeds and the safe storing them in preparation for planting.
The Zambuko Community Library and Cultural Centre was built by the local community with support from the UK.
The building was completed in January 2006. During 2024 it has undergone major repairs to roof, windows and door.
In February 2024, Kennedy Tafara Chinyere and local friends built a pig sty for the two pigs that were housed near to the Trees of Hope Nursery. This was large enough to support the first developments of the piggery.
